I Don’t Now What I’m Doing

I want to make it perfectly clear: I often don’t know what I’m doing. If you’re considering hiring me to put together a website, consider with caution my automatic assurance of “Yeah, I’ve done hundreds of those Web 2.0 websites,” or “Of course I know how to do AJAX.”

I say this also as a caution about any advice I give or any articles I write. I frankly know nothing about electronics or woodworking or plumbing and have over the years shocked, burned and sliced myself while wiring outlets, applying laminate and ripping wood on the table saw. I have fallen off ladders, fallen down stairwells and been thrown head over heels in aikido classes and have landed on my head several times.

Despite reading the newspaper, listening to NPR and subscribing to many magazines, I remain largely uneducated about politics, economics and the sciences. I can recall and hum the theme songs of almost every television show I’ve ever watched, but I don’t think that qualifies me as an authority about anything that I have written for this website.

That said, please treat anything you read here as highly suspect and probably incorrect.
